Be advised former Missouri State Fire Marshal and Deputy Chief with the St. Louis Fire Department John Coburn has passed away on August 14, 2010. Visitation will be at the Schrader in Ballwin on Tuesday August 24 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with burial at 12:00 at Jefferson Barracks.

AED Class

What would you do if your neighbor had a heart attack in the front yard?

What would you do if your child was choking?

What is an AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) and how do you use one?

To learn the answers to these and many other life saving questions, sign up to take the “HEART SAVER AED Class” offered by the Richmond Heights Fire Department in October.

The Heart Saver AED class is open to all residents 12 and older. You will learn Infant/Child/Adult CPR, what to do when choking emergencies occur, and how to use an AED.

Kenny (KJ) Copeland





Kenneth Copeland, 73 of Cape Girardeau, Mo., formerly of Piggott, passed away July 7, 2010, in the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Feb. 8, 1937, near Rector, and was the son of the late Marion and Lou Anna (Jewell) Copeland.
He was united in marriage to Pauline Syberg May 4, 1963, and to this union two daughters were born.
Kenneth was a member of the First Baptist Church, Piggott Masonic Lodge # 545, New Piggott Chapter # 623, Order of the Eastern Star and he served six years in the United States Air Force.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Terry Copeland, and one sister, Ann Blair.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline Copeland of Suwanee, Ga.; two daughters, Carol Bauer and husband Chris of Ballwin, Mo., and Kristy Adams and husband Christian of Suwanee, Ga.; three grandchildren, Tyler Bauer, Timothy Bauer and Bison Adams; one sister, Betty Humphrey of St. Louis, and other relatives and friends.
Services were held Saturday, July 10, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Kevin Murray officiating. Burial was in Piggott Cemetery. Visitation and Masonic services were held Saturday prior to services at the funeral home. Pallbearers were Chris Bauer, Christian Adams, Tyler Bauer, Timothy Bauer, Bill Humphrey, Kerry Hogan, Luke Presley and Tim Blair.
